Hi, I’m Julia.
I’m a counsellor, educator, and clinical supervisor with a background that spans schools, universities, and private practice. I’ve spent over two decades supporting children, young people, adults and families through big transitions, complex diagnoses, and moments of real emotional weight.
My PhD in Educational Psychology focused on resilience and gender development in at-risk youth. That research still shapes the way I work today—especially with families navigating behavioural challenges or new diagnoses, and with kids and teens who might feel misunderstood at school, at home, or in themselves.
Before becoming a full-time counsellor, I worked as a special education teacher and school guidance officer. That experience gave me deep insight into the messy, often emotional intersection between learning, development, and family dynamics. I understand the NDIS system, and I offer both therapy and practical support to parents trying to find their feet in unfamiliar terrain.
At Touchstone, I see individuals, couples, children, and families. I draw on evidence-based approaches, but my work is always relational at heart. My goal is to create a space where people feel safe enough to be honest—and supported enough to change.
If you’re ready to shift out of survival mode and into something more connected and whole, I’d love to meet you.
