Life can look fine from the outside.

You can have a career, relationships, responsibilities and people who depend on you, and still sense that something needs to change.

Running on empty

You're getting everything done, but the pressure never really stops. You're exhausted, irritable or finding it increasingly difficult to switch off.

Successful, but not fulfilled

You've spent years building your career, business or life, and the satisfaction you expected from it has stayed out of reach.

Struggling in your relationships

Stress, old patterns or the demands of everyday life may be affecting your connection with your partner, family or the people who matter to you.

Ready for something to change

You may have no neat label for what's happening. You just know you want to feel and respond differently.

Asking for support is worthwhile long before things become unmanageable.

Counselling with purpose

More than simply talking about how you feel.

Good counselling goes beyond being told what to do, and beyond having someone listen.

It's a collaborative process that helps you understand yourself, recognise patterns, develop new ways of responding and make changes that extend beyond the counselling room.

Our experienced counsellors draw on evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and EMDR, tailoring counselling to you rather than forcing you into a one-size-fits-all approach.

The goal is change that lasts well beyond the hour.

Counselling helps long before things reach crisis.

Stress & Burnout

When work and life demands have outrun what you can sustainably carry. We help you understand what's driving the pressure and rebuild capacity.

Anxiety

Persistent worry, overthinking or physical tension that follows you through the day. Counselling gives you practical, evidence-based ways to respond differently.

Trauma & PTSD

Past experiences can keep shaping how you feel and react today. Our counsellors work with trauma carefully, at a pace that stays safe for you.

Depression

Low mood, flatness or losing interest in things that used to matter. We work on both what's maintaining it and what helps you move forward.

Relationships

Communication that keeps breaking down, recurring conflict or distance with the people closest to you, individually or together.

Life Transitions & Change

Career shifts, separation, grief, becoming a parent or reaching a point where the life you built no longer fits. Support to navigate it deliberately.

Experience matters

Counselling should feel like an investment in yourself.

Choosing a counsellor is personal. You need someone you can trust, but you also deserve confidence that the person sitting opposite you has the experience and professional knowledge to help.

Touchstone's team brings extensive experience across counselling, psychology and mental health, using established evidence-based approaches while recognising that every person's circumstances are different.

Have a Mental Health Treatment Plan?

Counselling at Touchstone is available with or without a Mental Health Treatment Plan.

If you're eligible, you can speak with your GP about a Mental Health Treatment Plan. With a current plan and an eligible practitioner, Medicare rebates may be available for your sessions.

Touchstone does not bulk bill. Our team can explain the applicable fees and rebate arrangements before your first appointment so you know what to expect.

We also work with NDIS participants, WorkCover referrals and clients claiming private health rebates through participating funds.

Common questions

Do I need a Mental Health Treatment Plan?+

No. You can book with any of our counsellors as a private client without a referral. A plan is simply one way some people access a Medicare rebate on part of the fee.

Do you bulk bill?+

No, Touchstone does not bulk bill. We’ll explain the fee and any rebate you may be eligible for before your first appointment, so you know the full cost before you book.

What happens at my first appointment?+

Mostly conversation. Your counsellor will ask about what’s been happening, what you’d like to be different, and what you want from counselling, then talk with you about how you might work together.

What if I’m not sure which counsellor is right for me?+

That’s what the enquiry is for. Tell us what you’re looking for and we’ll suggest the counsellor whose experience and availability best fit your situation.

Can I attend online?+

Yes. Several of our counsellors work exclusively via telehealth, and others offer a mix of in-person appointments in Brisbane and online sessions.

You can start before things get worse.

If something in your life needs to change, talking to an experienced counsellor is a solid first step.
