“I believe that compassionate support and practical strategies can help people rediscover stability, connection, and hope.”

I am an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker and psychotherapist with more than two decades of experience supporting individuals, couples, and families experiencing a wide range of mental health challenges. My work is grounded in a deep understanding of how emotional, relational, and life circumstances can affect wellbeing across the lifespan.

Nola Rader

Through Touchstone Counselling and Supervision, I provide online counselling and supervision services, offering flexible and accessible mental health care for clients across Australia.

I work with people navigating concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, eating disorders, relationship challenges, and complex life transitions. A significant part of my practice focuses on family therapy and couples counselling, where I help families strengthen communication, rebuild trust, and develop healthier patterns of connection.

Throughout my career, I have provided therapeutic services through a variety of referral pathways including Medicare Mental Health Care Plans, WorkCover recovery counselling, NDIS therapeutic supports, and DVA referrals. I have also worked extensively with children, adolescents, adults, and families within both public mental health services and private practice.

My focus areas:

Medicare-rebated counselling through GP Mental Health Care Plans
WorkCover recovery counselling for psychological workplace injury
Family therapy and relationship counselling
Individual therapy for anxiety, depression, trauma, and complex mental health concerns
Grief and loss counselling
Professional supervision for social workers and allied health professionals

My therapeutic approach draws on evidence-based frameworks including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), attachment-informed family therapy, trauma-focused CBT, and mindfulness-based strategies. I work collaboratively with clients to develop practical tools that support emotional regulation, resilience, and long-term wellbeing.

Over the years, I have also worked closely with multidisciplinary teams, community organisations, and culturally diverse communities, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and I strive to ensure that my practice remains respectful, culturally responsive, and strengths-focused.
